14 startups tapped to present at Petcare Innovation USA

LOS ANGELES — Petcare Innovation USA, a pet industry event hosted by Kisaco Research, recently announced the 14 startups selected to present at the event’s Best in Show Spotlight. The conference will be held Dec. 5 and 6 in Los Angeles.

In the nutrition category, two early-stage companies made the cut. They include Arch Pet Food, a seed-level startup leveraging alternative proteins to cater to food-sensitive pets, and Bright Planet Pet, a startup dedicated to 100% plant-based dog treats currently seeking series A funding.

Nutrition-adjacent startups Breed Science and Bistro Cat were also selected for the Best in Show Spotlight. Breed Science is a weight loss software startup taking a personalized approach to pet weight management, while Bistro Cat is a seed-level entrant offering a health-monitoring automated feeding solution for felines.

Other selected startups include Arlo Veterinary, Inc., Maven Pet, MI:RNA Diagnostics, Moggie, Vetted Pet Health, Inc., Baja Naturals, Coda, Nibbles, Porter Labs, and Radimal.

These startups were chosen by a selection committee comprised of Ava Henrikson, consumer investor with Verity Venture Partners; Bruce Truman, founder of BLT Technology & Innovation Group; Andy Katz, founder of Lab Lake Capital; Marshall Morris, owner of Morris Media; Jared Jacobs, principle at CAVU Partners; Jose Bermudez, partner at VMG Partners; Chris Aydam, senior partner at Midnight Venture Partners; Sarah Phillips, vice president of Emil Capital Partners; Lashonda Geffrard, founder of Black Pet Business Network; Arpon Ray, partner at Coefficient Capital; Alex Wolf, chief operating officer at AF Ventures; and Johnny Tran, managing director at 301 INC.
