Florida man arrested after repeatedly tossing cat into pool

A suburban Boca Raton man was arrested after a video was posted on social media showing the man repeatedly throwing his cat into a pool.Loty Lamour is charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty.The video shows Lamour picking up his cat, Coco, and tossing her into the pool.Coco can be seen frantically swimming to the side, but as she tries to climb out, Lamour picks her up and tosses her back into the pool.That scene is repeated twice more before the video ends.Stay informed: Local coverage from WPBF 25 NewsPalm Beach County sheriff’s deputies responded to the home, arrested Lamour, and brought Coco to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control.“It’s horrifying,” ACC director Jan Steele said of the video. “We’re responsible for taking care of them. And to do that would be the equivalent of tossing your 2-year-old in the pool when they don’t know how to swim.”Veterinarians at ACC said Coco is doing well now physically.She has a respiratory issue, possibly caused by being dunked in the pool so often, but is otherwise healthy.Around the country: National coverage from WPBF 25 NewsHowever, Steele said Coco remains very skittish.“She’s a sweetheart. This is a wonderful cat,” Steele said while scratching Coco’s head. “She is afraid to be picked up. And that’s not surprising. She was picked up and tossed into a pool. Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies responded to the home, arrested Lamour, and brought Coco to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control.
