NEW HOPE, Ala. (WHNT) — A New Hope Police Officer was hurt Saturday soon after getting bitten by a canine throughout a chase.
The New Hope Police Section (NHPD) claimed the incident happened when a further officer attempted to halt a motor vehicle on Hobbs Island Highway. The department reported, soon after a quick chase, the auto pulled into a driveway and a gentleman and a girl fled the car or truck.
NHPD reported the man fled into a home while the officer pursued the woman matter. As the officer tried to apprehend the woman two canine immerged from the residence the person had fled into and attacked the officer. The office reported through the resulting confrontation the officer was wounded and shot just one of the dogs although the other fled.
NHPD stated the woman then fled into a distinctive close by residence and briefly hid in the attic, but is now in custody. The department claimed it is continue to trying to get the guy involved in the incident at this time.
Huntsville Crisis Professional medical Services Inc. (HEMSI) Spokesperson Don Webster stated HEMSI transported just one person from the scene on Hobbs Island Road in New Hope with non-lifetime-threatening accidents related with puppy bites.
